The
district is responsible for the ECEAP program in North Pacific
County. There are programs for 1- to 4-year-olds and extended
kindergarten in the Early Learning Center building. In addition
to the ECEAP program, the district offers free preschool to
all 4-year-olds for two days per week with the option of an
additional two days for a fee. The extended kindergarten program
is staffed by classified staff with a lead staff person who
holds a two-year preschool degree. The program is voluntary
and free, with 100% of kindergarteners participating. The extended
program also coordinates with the kindergarten program. The
primary kindergarten program concentrates on the 3 R's while
the extended program adds the subjects of science, art, and
PE. Expansion of these programs has been limited to space available. |
