Parents
have attended board meetings to complain that their children
(non-special ed, middle-income students) do not receive the
same benefits as low-income or special needs students. They
have asked for all day kindergarten and open-enrollment preschool.
The district lacks the funds to meet their requests. It maxed
out the levy, and I-728 funds have been used to reduce class
size and to provide music to students in grades K-6 and electives
to students in grades 7-12. |
